Franklin – Rossie Edward Brock, Sr., 83, widower of Betty Joyner Brock, passed away July 27, 2013. Born in Isle of Wight County, he was the son of the late Rossie William and Annie Mae Darden Brock and was predeceased by three sisters, Louise Lee, Julia Mae Newsome and Tricia Stultz and one brother, Richard Brock.
Mr. Brock was an Army veteran and was retired from Union Camp after 41 years of service. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church, Beaver Dam Senior Circle and Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Brock Slaton (David); a son, Rossie Brock Jr. (Janet); two sisters, Ginnie Outland and Nannie Engstrom; five grandchildren, Amie Slaton Baty (Daniel), Keith Andrew Slaton (Ashley), and Matt, Megan and Graham Brock; one great-grandchild, Brooke Taylor Baty; and a grand dog, JoJo.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, July 30, at Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Baugham officiating. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
