Franklin – Rose Marie Jones Edwards, 86, passed away June 21, 2014 at the East Pavilion. She was born in Richmond, on December 12, 1927 the only child of the late Roy and Ora Marshall Jones. Rose was also predeceased by a son, Larry Edwards. She was a long-time member of Sycamore Baptist Church. A beloved wife and mother, she is survived by her husband of 68 years, C. Tyler Edwards, Jr.; one daughter, Lynn E. Marks, and her husband, Wayne, of Quinton; one son, Tye Edwards, III and his wife, Katie, of Capron; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Edwards of Franklin; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a special cousin, Vernell Nicholson, of Norfolk.
The funeral will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, June 24, 2014, in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Roger Crump officiating. Burial will follow at Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Sycamore Baptist Church, 31120 Sycamore Church Road, Franklin, VA 23851. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff for their care of Rose during her time at the East Pavilion.
