Courtland – Rose Lynn Gilbreath, 19, passed away June 18, 2026 with her mother by her side.

Born September 5, 2006 in Norfolk, she is the daughter of Bobbie Lea Payne Butler and Christopher Brent Gilbreath.  She is also survived by a sister, Jordan; a brother, David; her maternal grandmother, Nancy Kurowski; her paternal grandparents, Paul and Laura Gilbreath; and two uncles, James and Sandy Turrell.

Rose is predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Robert Payne; paternal grandmother, Key Gilbreath; step-father, Jeffery Butler; and her step-grandfather, Michael Kurowski.

An outdoor Celebration of Life will be held at 11AM Saturday, August 1, 2026 at the home of Doug and Darlene York, 34452 Lees Mill Rd., Franklin, VA 23851.  The family requests that you wear your brightest and happiest colors.  Memorial donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House or Edmarc Hospice for children in memory of Rose.
