Windsor- Ronald Carey Pierce, 66, passed away January 31, 2026 at Sentara Obici Hospital after a period of declining health. Born in Franklin, he worked in landscaping for over 25 years with Nansemond Lawn and Garden and enjoyed participating in Civil War reenactments.

Survivors include his wife, Hattie Marie Pierce; his father, Bobby Ray Pierce; stepchildren, Robert Fuller (Laura), Christopher Healy (Michelle) and, Katherine Healy (Adam); seven grandchildren, Matthew, Rhett, Lizzie, Christopher, Jr., Hunter, Jack and Cody; sister, Geannie Priest (Dennis); half-brother, Billy Ellis (Sharon); sister-in-law, Karen Pierce, and a host of nieces and nephews. Ronie was predeceased by his mother, Jane Newsome Ellis, and a brother, Tommy Pierce.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to your favorite Food Bank in his memory.
