Windsor – Roland Christopher Turner, 85, passed away February 25, 2026 in Courtland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.  Born and raised in Isle of Wight County, he was a son of the late William Turner and Eizabeth Garris Turner and was also predeceased by a sister, Madelene Turner, and five brothers Winifred, Leland, Jack, Billy, and Dickie Turner.

Roland was retired from Newport News Shipyard after 51 years of service.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 49 years, Judith Mae "Judy" Simms Turner; two sons, Michael Travis Butler and Roland David Turner; three grandchildren, Jessica Butler, Natalie Turner, and Mason Turner.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2PM Tuesday, March 3, 2026 in Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Martin Chappell officiating.  Burial will follow in Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and suggests that memorial donations be made to Isle of Wight Animal Services, 13044 Poorhouse Rd., Windsor, VA  23487.
