Franklin – Roberta Jean Gunnell, 82, passed away September 16, 2021 in Chesapeake Regional Medical Center.  Born in Jamaica, New York, daughter of the late William Robert Feidner and Evangeline McLarty Feidner.

Roberta was a daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother to the utmost degree.  She took pride in being an ESL Instructor, Elementary School Secretary, and later a Purchasing Agent for the National Wildlife Federation.  Roberta devoted her time to family, enjoyed her involvement in school activities, scouting, community, charity work, and especially church activities.  She was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 61 years, George Thomas Gunnell, III and her three children, George T. Gunnell, IV (Maureen) of Winfield, WV along with their children, Lindsay, Kimberly, and Natalie, Diane E. Cooke (Eric) of Franklin along with their children Kristen and Brian (Kennedy), and William R. Gunnell (Dineen) of Kings Park, NY along with their children Nanette, Samantha, Casey, and Jesse.

Services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
