Robert Vaughan Whitehead, 61, passed away April 26, 2013. Mr. Whitehead was born in Suffolk and reared in Branchville and was a member of Branchville United Methodist Church. He was an Army veteran and loved driving trucks and anything to do with tractors. He was predeceased by his wife, Brenda Hearp Whitehead, his father, Warner Vann Whitehead and two brothers, Warner Vann Whitehead, II and Wayne L. Whitehead. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Blanche Vaughan Whitehead of Branchville; a sister, Beverly W. Stewart and husband John of Newsoms; a brother, Augustus Eugene "Gene" Whitehead and wife Connie of Branchville; a good friend, Bill Collins of Roanoke Rapids and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral with military honors will be held at 11AM Monday, April 29, 2013 at Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, VA with the Rev. Michael Baugham officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Branchville United Methodist Church, Branchville, VA 23828.
