Franklin – Robert Lee Richards, 88, passed away June 29, 2021 in Accordius Health in Gatesville, NC.   Born in Kanawha County, WV, he was a son of the late Joseph Thomas Richards and Anne Minter Richards.  He is also predeceased by his brother, Carl Richards.

Robert was a retired Veteran of the US Navy serving over 20 years and a retired welder for Norshipco with over 20 years of service.  He also worked at Walmart in Franklin for 14 years and was a member of American Legion Post 205 in Franklin.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 69 years, Sidney Inez Richards; three sons, Buc Richards (Valerie), Roy Richards (Lynn), and Chuck Richards; four grandchildren, Ryan Richards (Megan), Tyler Richards (Samantha), Linwood Grimes, and Ada Butler; four great grandchildren; a brother Bill Richards (Priscilla); and a host of nieces and nephews.
