Franklin – Robert Bernard O'Berry, Jr., 73, died March 10, 2008 at Southampton Memorial Hospital. Born in Newsoms, he was a son of the late Robert Bernard O'Berry, Sr. and Sally Porter O'Berry. Mr. O'Berry was also predeceased by a son, Brad O'Berry and a brother, Billy O'Berry. An Army veteran, he was retired from S. W. Rawls, Inc. and a member of Barnes United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one brother, Graham R. O'Berry and wife, Betty, of Myrtle Beach, SC; a sister-in-law, Nancy O'Berry of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 2 pm at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Roger D. Crump officiating. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery, Newsoms. The family will receive friends today (Tuesday) from 7 to 8:30 pm at the funeral home and suggests memorials be made to Barnes United Methodist Church, c/o Mrs. Linda Drake, 25232 Drake Drive, Newsoms, Va. 23874.
