Atlanta-Dr. Robert Ellsworth Jones, Jr. died surrounded by his daughters on November 7, 2015 in Atlanta after a long illness. Formerly of Birmingham, Alabama, he was born in Franklin, Virginia to Page Morehead Jones and Robert Ellsworth Jones on February 4, 1935.

He was also predeceased by his wife, Joie Ellison Jones and his stepmother, Eunice Westbrook Jones. Dr. Jones, a retired
Dermatopathologist was a graduate of Duke University and Bowman Gray School of Medicine. He was a Major in the United States Army and a member of the Kappa Alpha order.

He is survived by his daughter, Page Jones Littlewood and her husband George Frederic Littlewood of Durham, North Carolina, his daughter Ellison Jones Henderson and her husband Daniel Henderson of Birmingham, Alabama, and his daughter Ross Allen Jones and her partner Susan Owens of Atlanta, Georgia.

Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Ross Hamill Gray and Margaret Ellison Gray of Birmingham, Alabama, George Grey Littlewood and his wife Hannah Littlewood of Raleigh, NC, Drewry Allen Littlewood of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Lillian Margaret Ellison Littlewood of Charlotte, North Carolina

A private family burial service was held at Poplar Spring Cemetery in Franklin Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bryan Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) at Duke University. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
