Franklin – Robert Louis "Bob" Jones, 87, passed away January 13, 2019 in a Raleigh, NC hospital.  Bob was a native of Conway, NC and a son of the late John Henry and Lalah Wheeler Jones.  He was also predeceased by his wife Olean Bell Jones, a brother Sam Henry Jones, and brother-in-law Edgar Parker.  Bob was a1949 graduate of Conway High School and retired from CSX Railroad after 35 years of service.  He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church and a member of Franklin American Legion Post #73.

Survivors include two sons Robert L. Jones, Jr. (Janet) of Mechanicsville and John V. Jones of Newport News; one sister Shelby J. Parker of Franklin; a niece Susan Bergsagel; one nephew Larry Parker; and a special friend Marion Poole.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1PM Friday, January 18, 2019 in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Gibson officiating.  Burial with Military Honors will follow in the New Annex of Poplar Spring Cemetery.  A reception will be held at 11AM prior to the Funeral in The Village at Woods Edge Back Porch and Grille.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8PM in the funeral home and suggests memorial donations be made to Franklin Baptist Church.   www.wrightfuneralhome.org
