Franklin – Robert Clayton "Bobby" Cobb, 80, longtime Southampton County farmer, passed away peacefully in his home October 26, 2017. Bobby was born in Franklin, a son of the late Clayton Thomas and Eunice Cones Cobb. He was also predeceased by his sister Page Cobb Parker and her husband Elliott and a nephew William Clayton "Clay" Parker.

He was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church and a former member of Franklin Congregational Christian Church and had been an active member in both congregations. He was a former Virginia National Guardsman, a former member of Forks of the River Ruritan Club and a recipient of the Century Farm Award.

Survivors include two nieces, Jane Elliott Parker of Charlottesville and Nancy Page Parker of Courtland.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3PM Sunday October 29, 2017 in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. M. Reginald Warren officiating. Burial will be at Poplar Spring Cemetery. A visitation will be Saturday from 7 to 8:30 PM in the funeral home. A reception will follow the service at Sycamore Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
