Courtland – Robert Marion "Bobby" Broocke, 66, passed away August 20, 2009 at East Pavilion. He was born in North Carolina, a son of the late Marian Pulley and Joel Robert Broocke, and reared in Boykins. He was predeceased by his first wife, Carole Grizzard Broocke and a brother, Harry Broocke. Bobby was retired from Electric Motors and Contractors, Inc. after 25 years of service and was a member of Vincent's Grove United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Swann Burgess Broocke; two daughters, Deborah B. Goreham (Rob) of Columbia, Ca. and Jennifer B. Wandishin (Nicholas) of Eustis, Fl.; three step-sons, Mark Bradshaw (Carol) of Suwanee, Ga., Timothy Bradshaw (Becky), of Harlingen, Tx., and Dana Bradshaw (Toni) of Quinton, Va.; three grandchildren Kindall Wandishin, Melisa Goreham, and Jessica Bradshaw; three step-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 am Monday at Capron Cemetery with the Rev. Steven Vornov officiating. A reception will be held following the service at Vincent's Grove UMC, Buckhorn Quarter Road, Courtland.
