Carrsville – Robert Lee Barnes, Sr., 91, passed away July 23, 2012. He was born in Princess Anne County, VA and was a former resident of Virginia Beach. He was predeceased by his parents, Ollie and Dora Ship Barnes. Mr. Barnes was an Army veteran of WWII who served in the combat engineers during the invasion of France, Germany and Belgium. He retired after 30 years from the City of Norfolk Bureau of Parks and Forestry and was a retired self employed tree surgeon.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Carr Barnes.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2 PM, Friday, July 27, 2012 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk with the Rev. Jim Hyatt officiating. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
