Franklin- Richard Marlin "Ricky" McClelland, Jr., 47, passed away June 3, 2008 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, NC, as a result of complications from Huntington's Chorea. He was born in Bethlehem, PA, a son of the late Richard Marlin and Emma Jean Booze McClelland, and also predeceased by a sister, Denise K. McClelland. Ricky was a 1980 graduate of Southampton High School and was a retired car salesman.
Survivors include his daughter, Elizabeth Anne McClelland; his son, Jonathan Richard McClelland, both of Suffolk; a sister, Deborah M. Grizzard and husband, Mike, of Capron; a brother, Kenny McClelland and wife, Robin, of Franklin; two nieces, Alexandria Grizzard, Emma McClelland; three nephews, Devon McClelland-Reyes, Marlin McClelland, Benjamin Grizzard; an aunt, Barbara A. McClelland of Pittsburg, PA; four uncles, Charles H. McClelland of Manassas, Herbert Booze and C. Dennis Booze, both of Roanoke, and Garland Booze of Memphis.
The funeral service will be held Friday at 3 pm at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with Pastor David Dillon officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home and suggests memorials be made to the Huntington Disease Society of America, 505 Eighth Ave., Suite 902, NY, NY. 10018. www.hdsa.org
