Carrsville – Richard Ray McCaskey, Sr., 76, passed away April 20, 2015 with his loving family at his side. He was born December 29, 1938 in St. John's Township, Hertford County, NC to the late Sam and Elsie Williams McCaskey and was predeceased by his devoted wife of 31 years, Carol W. McCaskey and four brothers and two sisters.

He was a 1957 graduate of Aulander High School and was a member of the North Carolina National Guard from 1959 to 1964. He was retired from Union Camp/ IP with 41 years of service and was an active member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church..

Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Richard Ray McCaskey, Jr. (Teresa) and Michael Douglas McCaskey( Cheryl), and four grandchildren, Justin W. McCaskey (Amanda), Courtney A. McCaskey, Austin M. McCaskey, and Korbin L. McCaskey.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 PM Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin with the Rev. James H. Hyatt, Jr. officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be at Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 PM Wednesday and suggests that memorial donations be made to Beaver Dam Baptist Church or American Cancer Society.
