Courtland – Richard Joseph Lake, 53, grandson of Lucille E. & Richard B. Myers and Richard J. Lake has been called to be with both his beloved Grandparents and his big brother, who have preceded him in this journey.

Richard was born in Davenport, Iowa on August 17, 1968 along with his twin sister Lori J. Miller, to Phyllis L. Bankston (Lake) and the late Ronald L. Lake Sr.

He is survived by two siblings, Lori J. Miller of Chesapeake, VA and  Denise A. Lake of Courtland, VA.

Richard was a lifelong Plantsman/Horticulturist and animal Lover. He had a green thumb that also doubled as a perch for his beloved Birds through the years. He was a loyal brother and friend with a deep appreciation for his Mother. He loved music and movies and had a laugh that was very contagious to those around him.

He was surrounded by his Family in his moment of Freedom.  Richard will continue his journey alongside his Big Brother Bud and Grandparents.
