Obituary

Franklin - Regina Faith Heatwole, lovingly known as "Gina" to so many, passed away June 24, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to family. Born on July 6, 1951, Regina was the oldest of six children born to Hester and Jim Riffe, who preceded her in death as well as two brothers Timmy and Tommy Riffe predeceased her.

Regina's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her beloved son, Michael, and his wife, Angie; her granddaughters, Virginia and her husband Kurt, and Sami and Trent and her cherished great-granddaughters; Samantha, Ryann, and Scarlett. Though these were the family members she held closest, Regina's love reached far beyond bloodlines. To countless friends, neighbors, and loved ones, she was simply "Oma"—a source of comfort, wisdom, laughter, and unconditional love.

She loved her family fiercely and made no apologies for it. Her loyalty was unwavering, her heart was generous, and her presence made everyone feel welcomed and cared for.

For more than fifty years, Regina dedicated her life to the art of hairstyling. Through her work, she built lasting friendships, listened to countless stories, shared laughter, and touched the lives of generations of clients who became family.

Regina found peace and happiness in nature's beauty. She loved the soothing rhythm of the beach and felt at home among the mountains of West Virginia. Whether watching the waves roll in or admiring a mountain sunset, she found joy in the simple wonders of the world.

Though her physical presence is gone, the love she gave continues to live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Like the ocean she loved and the mountains she cherished, her spirit remains woven into the lives she touched—steady, enduring, and beautiful.  Her family takes comfort in the memories they shared, the lessons she taught through her actions, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of all who called her Oma.

A celebration of life will be held at the residence 177 Covey Circle Franklin, VA 23851 July 25th at 3PM for friends and family to come together and share memories of love and laughter.
