Newport News – Donny Reed Bass, Jr., 49, passed away unexpectedly on March 26, 2021 in his home.  Reed was born in Franklin and reared in Courtland.  He was predeceased by his father, Donny Reed Bass, Sr.

Reed was a graduate of Southampton High School and attended Paul D. Camp Community College and Thomas Nelson Community College.  He was an Air Force Veteran and a former IT Technician for Newport News Public Schools.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Sandra Bruno Bass; two sisters, Diane Harper and Sheila LaFevers; a brother, Harrell Harper; two nieces, Alease Harper and Kaitlyn LaFevers; two nephews, Justin Bass and Wyatt LaFevers; a great niece, Kenzie Deshazo; three great nephews, Austin, Ryan, and Sammy Deshazo; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be held at a later date.
