Franklin – Rebecca Winstead Royster, 82, passed away January 16, 2024 in the Gates House.  Born on May 3, 1941 in Franklin, she was a daughter of the late Charles Louis Winstead and Evelyn Modlin Winstead.  She was also predeceased by her husband William Thomas Royster.

Rebecca attended VCU and was an x-ray technician and a Medical Office Administrator for Dr. Britt.  She was a member of Franklin Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Tammy R. Bradshaw (Michael); her sister, Rita W. Schafer (Chris); two brothers, Charles L. "Butch" Winstead II (Sandra) and J. C. Winstead (Barbara); and two grandchildren, Alexandra Paige Holt and Kristen Grace Holt.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM Saturday, January 20, 2024 in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Kidd officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
