Franklin, VA – Raymond Granville "Granny" Kraft, 91, died July 9, 2010. He was born in Baltimore, MD, a son of the late Raymond J. and Lillian Granville Kraft and was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy Kraft. Granny was a Navy veteran of WW II, and a retired Baltimore City police officer. Mr. Kraft was a semi-pro soccer player and a longtime world soccer official. He served on the rules committee and was a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame. He was former president of the Exchange Club of Highlandtown and former president of the Old Timer's Soccer Association of Maryland.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa Eckert Kraft; two daughters, Betty K. Simering and Jackie K. Sommerville, both of Baltimore, MD; a step-daughter Kathryn Healy of Suffolk, VA; a step-son, Dennis Bryant of New Freedom, PA; one sister, Audrey K. Coale and one brother, Edward Kraft, both of Baltimore, MD; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 am Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Baltimore. Local arrangements are being handled by Wright Funeral Home, Franklin.
