Franklin – Ralph Owen Babb passed away December 29, 2024 in Sentara Obici Hospital with his loving family by his side.  Ralph was born July 3, 1947 in Suffolk to the late Kurt and Martha Babb.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Barbara Babb; their children from their blended family, Danny Babb, Randy Babb, Martha Evans (Joe), John Babb (Ronnie), Sammie Babb, Kenneth Bradshaw (Jackie), Anita Bradshaw (Roxie), the mother of his children, Peggy Babb; six grandchildren which he loved dearly, Taylor Shull (Travis), Kaitlyn Babb, Justin Evans, Brittany Evans, Charles Babb, Selena Colon; and three great granddaughters, Parker Shull, Saylor Babb, and Kasey Babb.

Ralph served three years in the U.S. Army and retired from Suffolk Public Schools Maintenance Department as a master trades worker after 26 years of service.  He loved fishing, football, gardening, and spending time with his family.  Ralph had a kind heart and would help anyone that needed his help.  He had a special kind heart for all animals and spent a lot of time with his two beloved dogs, Bella and Stella, and his cat, Missy.  He will be truly missed by all that knew him.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2PM Thursday, January 2, 2025 in Wright Funeral Home.  Burial with Military Honors will follow in Southampton Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to any favorite charity or favorite animal shelter.
