Franklin – Peggy Gibson Stephenson, 77, passed away July 5, 2023 in her home. Peggy was born in Washington, NC and was a longtime resident of Franklin. She was a daughter of the late Mark Virgil and Dorothy Dupree Gibson and was also predeceased by an infant daughter, Elizabeth Renee Stephenson and a brother, Virgil Gibson.

Peggy was a member of Franklin Baptist Church and was a retired Peanut Grader for the Virginia Dept. of Agriculture.

Left to cherish her memory is two daughters, Margaret Kim Stephenson (Kevin) and Melissa Worrell (Mike), two sons, Scott Stephenson, III. (Dawn) and Mark Stephenson (Sara), one sister, Loretta G. Barber (John) and one brother, Joe Gibson (Carol), 14 grandchildren, Gerreald (Abbie), Kelley, Nicole, Amber, Brantley, Julian, Chris, Alex, Matthew, Luke, Noah, Urijah, Isaiah, and Elijah and eight great grandchildren, Mikayla, Taylor, Nova, Landon, Layla, Alaina, Ava and Andrea.

A private graveside service will be held July 7, 2023 with Dr. Charles Qualls officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
