Capron – Peggy Hocutt Crocker, 85, passed away peacefully January 18, 2026 in Sentara Obici Hospital surrounded by her family.  Born in Johnston County, NC, she was a daughter of the late James Colonel "JC" Hocutt and Ella Mae Strickland Hocutt.  Peggy was also predeceased by her husband, Everett Gibson Crocker, Sr.; a son, Everett Gibson Crocker, Jr.; and four brothers, Gene, Dan, Roger and Wayne Hocutt.

Peggy was a longtime resident of Capron and co-owner of Capron Auto Service.  She was a member of Capron Volunteer Rescue Squad and Capron Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Pamela C. Ferguson (Jerry) of Jarratt and Margaret C. Vann of Severn, NC; a sister, Betty Jo Crocker; five grandchildren, Stacy, Mark, Melinda, Elizabeth and Brooke; eight great grandchildren, Ella-Mae, Logan, Scarlett, Olivia, Katie, Darby, Zoie and Drake; and her two grand-dogs, Hope and Paisley.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2PM Friday, January 23, 2026 in Capron Baptist Church with Pastor Ron Carr officiating.  Burial will follow in Capron Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church and suggests memorial donations be made to Capron Rescue Squad, the American Heart Association, or Capron Baptist Church.
