Franklin – Pearl Modlin Juel, 94, passed away November 24, 2018. Pearl was a native of Southampton County and was a former resident of Virginia Beach. She was a daughter of the late Pearley and Minnie Taylor Modlin and was also predeceased by her husband Bennie A. Juel, two sons, Christian and Bennie Juel, Jr., five sisters, Elizabeth M. Rich, Grace M. Keech, Minnie M. Boone, Evelyn M. Modlin and Hope M. Dodson and two brothers, Clayton and Roland Modlin.

She was a retired chief telephone operator at Ft. Story and a member of First Baptist Church of Virginia Beach.

Survivors include one daughter Diane Stokes, one sister Bernice M. Hasenei, several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at 2 PM Friday November 30, 2018 in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin with Rev. James H. Hyatt, Jr officiating. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service in the funeral home. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
