Suffolk – Patricia "Tricia" Wheeler Rideout, 59, of Suffolk, VA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, July 2, 2023, after a seven-month battle with SIADH and lung cancer. Tricia was predeceased by her parents Shirley and Roy Wheeler, the love of her life - her husband Carl Bruce Rideout, and a brother, Ernest Wheeler. Tricia was a loving and giving soul. She always wanted to help family and friends in need. Tricia was a dedicated wife and caregiver to Bruce during his two battles with cancer. Seeing the pain and torture he endured throughout his cancer battles made her determined to live her life and not let cancer keep her from living life on her terms. She was a dedicated Wal-Mart associate in Suffolk for over 25 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at her country home before her death.

Left to cherish her memory are her stepdaughters, Kimberly Rideout (Doug Redd), Stephanie Cross, her grandchildren Cameron (Kate) and Carley Rideout. Her siblings, Florence Johnson (Bootie), Hank Wheeler (Kathy), Peggy Castelow (Benny), Audrey Hines (Todd), Douglas Wheeler (Brenda), Traci Wheeler, William Ebron, Jr., and Phillip Ebron (Dorothy). Cousin-in-law, Angelia Smithwick, sister-in-law, Ruth Whitley (Ed), brother-in-law, Robert Rideout (Judy). A host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

A private celebration of life is planned. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Salvation Army or Samaritans Purse Shoebox Ministry for Children.
