Sedley - Patricia V. Matney, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away in her home August 3, 2008, following a short-term illness. She was born February 10, 1938 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Ida Mae Nelson and Max Gregory Volk, and the stepdaughter of Roland Carl Nelson. Pat was a Navy veteran.
Left to cherish her memory are four children, Summer Lee of Franklin, Kim Ashley and husband, Billy, of Windsor, Roylee Fish and wife, Susan of Zuni, and Wendy Blythe of Franklin; six grandchildren, Bryan and Phillip Lee, Nathan O'Berry and Justin Ashley, Patrick and Texie Blythe; sons-in-law, Steve Lee of Franklin and
Carl Blythe of Sedley; three sisters, Edna Williams and husband, Edward, of Hertford, NC, Claudia Volk and husband, Larry McClung, of Arlington, Maxine Mueller and husband, Bob, of Dunedin, FL; and nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a large group of loving friends.
A special thank you to the Southampton Memorial Hospital staff for their wonderful care and love during her stay.
