Pamela Mcneely
Griffith
Dec 15, 1952 — Oct 22, 2025
Franklin
Franklin - Pamela McNeely "Pam" Griffith, 72, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, at Courtland Rehab and Healthcare. She was born on December 15,1952, in Durham, NC, to the late Dr and Mrs. Irwin McNeely.
Pam grew up in Franklin where she graduated from Franklin High School in 1971. She went on to attend Atlantic Christian College, Norfolk State University, graduating from Southampton Memorial Hospital's School of Nursing, dedicating her career to caring for others as a licensed practical nurse at East Pavilion. Her gentle heart and compassionate ways touched the lives of many patients and their families.
Pam's faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She grew up as a member of High Street United Methodist Church, later Church of God in Franklin and attended outreach services at Courtland Healthcare with Kingdom Impact Church.
A passionate Duke Blue Devil fan and loyal Washington Commanders supporter, Pam had plenty of team spirit -- but her greatest joy came from being "Granny" to her three grandchildren who were truly the light of her life. Pam never knew a stranger and had a heart that was always open and giving. Her positive attitude in the face of life's difficulties stood out as one of her strongest qualities.
Pam is predeceased by her parents, Irwin H. and Emogene P. McNeely. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Dennis T. Griffith, her son, John C. Blythe, (Melissa), her grandchildren Jacob Blythe (Kimberly), Mia Millikin, (Zachary), and Lucus Blythe. She also leaves behind a sister, Mitzi M. Montgomery (David), brother, Neil McNeely (Carol), her beloved nieces and nephews, and, of course, her two cherished cats.
A celebration of life will be held at 11AM Saturday, November 29, 2025 in Wright Funeral Home in Franklin, VA with Pastor Matt Kidd officiating.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Courtland Rehab and Healthcare for their excellent care, kindness and support they showed Pam during her time there. Their support and dedication brought comfort to both Pam and her family. Pam will be remembered for her faith, and love for family and friends.
