Courtland- Page Elizabeth Cobb Parker of Parker Farm on Ivor Rd. in Courtland, VA passed away November 26, 2015. She was born July 2, 1926 in Walters ,VA , and lived at her family home place in Franklin, leaving to attend Pan American Business College (VCU) in Richmond at age 17. She married Elliott Burrell Parker on April 15, 1945. Mrs. Parker was baptized at the Franklin Congregational Christian Church and later joined Courtland Baptist Church with her husband. She was employed as an assistant to the librarian at the Walter Cecil Rawls Library and Museum for 29 years and was instrumental in research on the Cobbs of Tidewater and the fine contribution about the John Madison Cobb home place. After her retirement she became employed by Manry–Rawls Insurance Company. Throughout her years she was a fine business woman, a farmer's wife who dearly loved watching the crops grow, seasons change and her flowers grow and enjoyed the ocean and friends at her Kitty Hawk beach house. She never met a stranger.

She was predeceased by her husband of fifty five years, Elliott and a son, William Clayton Parker of Vancouver, WA. and her parents, Clayton Thomas Cobb and Eunice Cones Cobb.

She is survived by two children, Jane Elliott Parker of Charlottesville and Nancy Page Parker of Courtland, one brother, Robert Clayton Cobb of Franklin, two grandchildren, Elliott W. Parker, Brian Parker and friends from every walk of life.

A private graveside service will be held at 9 AM Monday, November 30, 2015 at Riverside Cemetery, Courtland with the Rev. Tommy Speight and Dr. Reginald Warren officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence at 18000 Ivor Rd. Courtland and suggest that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Courtland Rescue Squad or the Courtland Fire Department.
