Sedley – Oretha Owen "Rita" Tillery, 90, widow of Thomas Cecil Tillery, passed away October 18, 2020 in Southampton Memorial Hospital.  Born in Jarratt, she was a daughter of the late Guy Hamlin Owen and Bessie Powell Owen and was also predeceased by three sisters, Patricia O. Temple, Rosalind Yates Owen, and Mary Jane Simmons, and a brother Glenn H. Owen.

Rita was a graduate of Jarratt High School and a member of Sedley Baptist Church where she kept the nursery for over 40 years.

Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Rita Rose (Dick), Debi Bradshaw (Howard), and Sue Tillery (Jesse); a sister Vivian O. Dunn; two brothers, Ben Owen (Judy) and Tommy Owen; a sister-in-law, Joyce Owen; three grandchildren, Joey Rose (Desiree), Brandol Bradshaw (Emily), and Sumner Bradshaw (Sonja); seven great grandchildren, J. W. Rose, David Rose, Carly Bradshaw, Everett Bradshaw, Tristan Bradshaw, Sawyer Bradshaw, and Calvin Steele Bradshaw; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank everyone at The Village at Woods Edge Assisted Living and Memory Care Unit for their loving care.

A Graveside Service will be held at 12PM Friday, October 23, 2020 in Rosemont Cemetery with Rev. Phillip Barton and Mr. Joey Rose officiating. Masks and social distance will be required. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Sedley Baptist Church Youth Group or Hunterdale Volunteer Fire Department.
