Mar 31, 1933 — Apr 20, 2017
Franklin
Franklin – Norma Steele Boyette Alphin, "Norma Steele", passed away early on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the East Pavilion. She had previously been a resident at The Village at Woods Edge in Franklin for four years. She was a native of Isle of Wight County and a daughter of the late George Washington Boyette and Valeria Virginia Pate Lewis. Mrs. Alphin was also predeceased by her husband, John Beverly Alphin, a sister, Cleo Francis Boyette and a grandson, Keith Vann.
Mrs. Alphin worked for Belk's for twenty years and was a former member of Windsor Christian Church where she was a member of the Woman's Fellowship and the choir. She then moved to Mount Carmel Christian Church and then to Franklin Congregational Christian Church where she was a member of the Woman's fellowship. Mrs. Alphin was a member of the Walters Home Maker Club.
Norma Steele was a gracious lady and an avid gardener as well. She loved being outside tending her flowers. She truly had a green thumb. She was also very skilled at floral arranging as her numerous ribbons from local garden clubs would attest.
