Nell Roberts Land, 85, of Franklin, widow of Marvin Lee Land, passed away October 8, 2011. A longtime resident of Franklin, Nell was mother and grandmother to many people and shared her love with everyone she met. She was a longtime member of High Street United Methodist Church and recently attended Church of the Epiphany at Spring Arbor of Salisbury in Richmond, Va.
Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Nancy Edens, Ginny Diersen (Dennis) and Ellen Land; nine grandchildren, Bryan Edens, Sarah Graham (Jonathan), Rebecca Selman (Troy), Ann Mann (Chris), Ashley Diersen, Rachel Diersen, Corey Rhodes, Jeffrey Rhodes and Natalie Rhodes; four great-grandchildren, Kaia Selman, Charlotte Graham, Isaac Graham and Henry Mann.
A celebration of Nell's life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 13, 2011 at High Street UMC with Rev. Susan Reaves officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Charity Neck UMC Cemetery, Pungo, Va. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Children's Center, 700 Campbell Ave, Franklin, VA or High Street UMC, P.O. Box 218, Franklin, VA 23851. The family would like to thank the staff of Spring Arbor of Salisbury and Bon Secours Hospice at St. Francis Hospital for their wonderful, loving care.
