Franklin – Nancy Holland "Nanny" Edwards, 73, passed away July 9, 2017 at Southampton Memorial Hospital. Nancy was a lifelong resident of Franklin and was a daughter of the late Charlie Simms and Thelma Roberts Holland. She was also predeceased by a sister Mildred Holland Faison and her husband Glenn.

Nancy was a member of Franklin Congregational Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years S. Earl Edwards, two daughters, Renee Edwards Pope (Terry Warren) and Dawn Edwards Purvis (Chris), one son Keith Edwards (Deborah Anne), eight grandchildren, Brittany Pope Carr (Ryan), Dillon Thomas Pope (Amanda), Haley Brooke Edwards, Seth Simms Edwards, Nadia Dawn Purvis, Megan Renee Purvis, Lauren Deringer French (Austin), Paige Marie Deringer, one great grandchild Bryce Andrew Carr and nieces, Marsha Faison Edwards and Wanda Faison Blythe along with numerous other nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at 11 AM Thursday July 13, 2017 in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. James H. Hyatt, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 PM at the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Southeastern Virginia Chapter, 6350 Center Drive, Suite 102, Norfolk, VA 23502.
