Murfreesboro – Mildred Barrett Vann, 91, widow of Linwood Earl Vann, passed away February 18, 2015 at the East Pavilion in Franklin, VA. Born in Southampton County, she was a daughter of the late Raleigh Barrett and Dorothy Barrett Robertson and was predeceased by a sister, Virginia S. Cook; son, R. Brent Vann and grandson, J. Keith Vann. Mrs. Vann was a retired dietician from Southampton Memorial Hospital and was a member of Murfreesboro Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory is a son, Earl B. Vann and his wife, Renea; a daughter-in-law, Dianne M. Vann; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Vann Turnbull (Scott), Catherine Vann, and Melanie V. Sadler; and three great-grandchildren, Ezekiel and Malachi Sadler and Barrett McIver.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, VA with the Rev. Dr. Lee Canipe officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Murfressboro, NC. Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
