Colosse – Mildred Marie Crowder Parker passed from the holy bonds of this earth to the arms of the Lord July 27, 2007 at Tandem Nursing Home in Windsor. She was born to Hayes Agnew Crowder and Eva Mack Crowder, of Newsoms, on April 28, 1936.
She leaves to cherish her memory the love of her life for 55 years, her husband, Franklin Gilmer Parker. She is also survived by her children to whom she devoted her life, Sharon Parker Gwaltney and husband, Steve, of Suffolk and Lisa Parker-Little and husband, Joe, of Colosse. She was predeceased by an infant son, Terry Dean.
She also leaves to cherish her memory four dearly, dearly loved grandchildren, Tina and Clint Walters, Sherry and Matthew Esch , Bonnie and Matthew Brashares, and Parker Wesley Little. She was blessed with three great-grandchildren, Cori and Connor Walters, and Madeline Waverly Esch. Mrs. Parker was predeceased by two sisters, Gladys Story and Susie Lowe; and two brothers, Hayes Crowder, Jr. and Edward T. Crowder.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 am Monday at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Colosse Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at Colosse Baptist Church and other times at Mildred and Frank's home.
