Franklin – David Michael Lackey, 75, passed away on May 26, 2022 in his home. Born in Newport News, he was a son of the late Robert McKee Lackey, Jr. and Ruth Overbey Lackey.  He was also predeceased by a son, William "Billy" David Lackey.

Mike was a 1966 graduate of Suffolk High School and an environmental technician and a millwright for Union Camp/International Paper with 42 years of dedicated service.  He was a member of Franklin Presbyterian Church.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 52 years, Carolyn Marie Williams Lackey; two sons, Kevin Lackey and his wife Katie and Jonathan Lackey and his wife Kelly; and a sister, Mary L. Kelton and her husband David; three grandchildren, Owen, Isaac, and Sabrina; a niece and a nephew; three great nieces and a great nephew; and two basset hound granddogs, Dolly and Waylon.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM Saturday, June 11, 2022 in Franklin Presbyterian Church with Rev. Lou Ventura officiating. A reception will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.  The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Franklin Presbyterian Church.
