Ahoskie – Milton James Dilday, 83, passed away January 14, 2015. He was born in Waverly, VA, and a former resident of Franklin, VA for 38 years. Mickey was a son of the late Obie and Ruby Dilday and was an Army veteran and a Purple Heart recipient from the Korean War. He was a longtime member of Center Grove Baptist Church. He was a retired Papermaker at Union Camp (1953-1992), a member of the Franklin VFW Post 4411 and an honorary member of the Franklin Fire and Rescue Squad.
Survivors include his longtime companion, Thelma Perry; children, Anita White (Allen) and James Dilday, Jr.; two sisters, Shirley Swain and Judith Bunch; and six grandchildren.
A graveside funeral with military honors will be held at 11 AM (today) Friday, January 16, 2015 at Southampton Memorial Park, 27396 Pretlow Road, Franklin, VA with the Rev.
