Chesapeake – Michael Mac McCoy Burgess, 55, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2011. Mac was born in Franklin, VA, June 27, 1956 to the late Elmo "Pretty" and Janet Bryant Burgess. He was former employee of Higgerson and Buchanan Construction Company and was presently employed with the Southeastern Public Service Authority (SPSA).
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 35 years, Shelly Burgess, one son, David Burgess and wife, Julie, three grandchildren, Brielle, Lyla, and Camryn Burgess, three sisters, Gale Duke and husband, Jimmy, Carole Eckel and husband, Paul, and Linda Carter and husband, David and a large extended family.
A memorial service will be held Friday, November 4, 2011 at 7:00 pm at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin. The family will receive friends today (Thursday) at Wright Funeral Home, 206 West Fourth Avenue, Franklin, VA 23851 from 7 to 8:30 pm.
