Capron – Michael Eugene "Mike" Grizzard, 63, passed away unexpectedly on April 16, 2026 in his home.  Born in Petersburg and raised on the family farm in Capron, he was a son of the late Eugene Mondell Grizzard and Patricia Worrell Grizzard.  He was also predeceased by a brother-in-law, Buddy Barber.

Mike was a 1981 graduate of Southampton Academy and received a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Business from Elon University.  He was a farmer and served on the nominating board at Farm Credit.  Mike was a member and Deacon at Antioch Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 33 years, Deborah McClelland Grizzard; a daughter, Alexandria Dale Grizzard; two sons, Devon McClelland-Reyes and Benjamin Michael Grizzard (Jenna); two sisters, Terry Barber and Carla Marshall (Dennis); a brother, Maynard Grizzard (Angela); a grandson, Clayton; a host of nieces and nephews; and a granddog, Bizmo.

A private graveside service will be held at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tom Guess officiating.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 18 from 6 to 8PM in Wright Funeral Home and suggests memorial donations be made to Antioch Baptist Church in Yale, VA.  A Celebration of Life reception will be held at 3PM Sunday, April 19, 2026 in Antioch Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
