Michael Thomas
Bach
Feb 26, 1960 — Dec 8, 2024
Franklin
Franklin – Michael Thomas Bach, age 64, of Franklin, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at his home. Born on February 26, 1960, in Suffolk VA, he was the oldest of four children born to the late Mr. Peter Bach and Mrs. Vivian Griggs.
Mike was a lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County, where he worked in the construction industry for much of his life. Known for his hard work, reliability, and generous spirit, Mike made lasting friendships and touched the lives of many in his community. His love for his family and his dedication to his work were evident in all that he did. In his younger days, Mike had a special fondness for the winter weather. He loved the excitement of getting snowed in for the weekend, eagerly participating in snowball fights and savoring mornings filled with hot sausage biscuits. In addition to his love for his family, Mike was a passionate sports fan. He was an avid supporter of the Chicago Cubs, often reminiscing about his favorite moments and he never missed a chance to throw a baseball around with his boys or his nephew in the yard. Mike's love for the San Francisco 49ers ran deep, and football Sundays were a time for him to enjoy the game with those closest to him.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Peter Bach, his mother, Vivian Griggs, and his brother, Peter Bach. He is survived by his two children, Rhett Michael Bach and Mick Cooper Bach; his sister, Susan Cornwell (Timmy); his brother, Christopher Bach; as well as six nieces and nephews, and three great-nieces and nephews, who all held a special place in his heart.
While Mike will be deeply missed by his family, friends & his best friend Wayne Duke, his legacy of kindness, loyalty, and love will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His family takes comfort in knowing that he was a beloved father, son, brother, and uncle, and that his impact on those around him was profound.
