Boykins – Meredith Hollowell "MH" Daniels, Jr., 75, passed away May 30, 2026 in Southampton Memorial Hospital.  Born in Ahoskie and raised in Colerain, NC, he was a son of the late Meredith Hollowell Daniels, Sr. and Frances Brown Daniels.

MH grew up on his family farm in Colerain.  He spent his childhood exploring the farm with his beloved younger sister, Kathy.  He was proud of his Bertie County roots and the community he grew up in and was the best storyteller regarding all childhood memories.  When he was a teenager, he acquired a horse named Trojan that he was extremely proud of.

In later years, he moved to Murfreesboro where he met many lifetime friends.  He loved telling stories of the good ole days spent with them.  He also lived in Como and was a member of the volunteer fire department.  It was there that he created a wonderful farm life with his daughter and first wife, Carol.  They had several goats, a beautiful Arabian horse named Penny, and an overflowing garden.  His daughter fondly remembers the walks around the farm with her Daddy.   His greatest love was for his daughter and grandsons.  They shared a love for the beach and would spend many summer days there together.  His memory will always be present with them along the shores of North Carolina.

MH was an Army Veteran and a retired clamp truck operator for International Paper.  He was a member of Wakelon Baptist Church in Colerain.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Rhonda; a daughter, Jessica Daniels (Johnathan) of Franklin; three sisters, Annette Myers (Warren), Kathy Hingerty, and Gay Lyle (Kevin); three grandchildren, Hunter Daniels (Mary), Tyler Edwards, and Tristan Edwards; a step-daughter, Dixie Linsangan (Zachary); step grandchildren, Bradley and Waylon Linsangan; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM Saturday, June 20, 2026 in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Darwin Edwards officiating.  Memorial donations may be made to any favorite charity.
