Franklin – Melvin Lee Crumpler, 84, passed away June 12, 2020 in Accordius Health at Courtland.  A native of Southampton County, he was a son of the late Hertford O. Crumpler and Edna Mae Parker Crumpler.   Melvin was also predeceased by his wife Virgie Mae Johnson Crumpler, two sisters, Martha Womble and Mary Lois Warren, and a brother Dobbin Crumpler.

Melvin worked at Franklin Equipment Company and was a member of Burdette Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sisters, Lillian Gunn, Beatrice Fowler (Mickey), and Irene Bailey (David), a brother, Marvin E. Crumpler, three step-children James Horace "Junior" Bradshaw, Jr. (pre-deceased) and wife Brenda, Charles Edward "Frog" Bradshaw and wife Martha Ann (pre-deceased), and Dianne Mae Bradshaw Fowler, and nieces and nephews.

A Funeral will be held at 11AM Monday, June 15, 2020 in Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Poe officiating.  Burial will follow in Southampton Memorial Park.  The family will received friends from 6 to 8PM Sunday in the funeral home.
