Capron – Mary Elizabeth Vick Bryant, 85, widow of Willie Thomas  "WT" Bryant, passed away October 18, 2018.  Mary Elizabeth was a native of Southampton County and was a daughter of the late William Henry Vick and Lottie Mae Francis Vick and was predeceased by a brother Franklin Vick, two sisters Juanita Vick and Thelma Hill, and a son-in-law Bill Hopkins who was just like a son.  She was a graduate of Boykins High School, a dental assistant for 16 years and a cashier for Boykins grocery stores.  Mary Elizabeth was a member of Newsoms Baptist Church.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  Her passion was gardening and diligently working in all aspects of the farm life.

Left to cherish her memory are a daughter Lou Anne Hopkins, a granddaughter Rachael Vaughan Hopkins, a brother William H. Vick, Jr., two nieces and four nephews; and Gloria Beale who was like a daughter to her.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, October 27, 2018 in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Armand Jalbert, Jr. and Rev. Kenneth Williams officiating.  Burial will be private.  The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 7:30 pm in the funeral home.  The family suggests memorial donations be made to Southampton Academy, 26495 Old Plank Rd., Courtland, VA 23837. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
