Boykins – Mary Ann Brett Edwards, 82, widower of Richard Spier Edwards, Jr., passed away unexpectedly on January 26, 2022 at her home in Murfreesboro.  Born in Louisburg, NC, she was a daughter of the late Henry Perkins Brett and Claudine Bradshaw Babb.   She was also predeceased by a sister, Claudia Gaigos, and a brother, Rodney Brett.

Mary Ann was a bank teller at BB&T and attended Boykins Baptist Church most of her life.  She also attended Meherrin Baptist Church in Murfreesboro most recently.  She was a member of the Boykins Lions Club and the Tarrara Woman's Club and served on the State Lions Club Board.  In her earlier years she taught Kindergarten at the Methodist Church in Boykins.  Mary Ann loved bridge, playing golf and hanging out with her great grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Susan Edwards White (Gilbert Tinkham); a son, Richard Spier Edwards, III (Angie); a sister, Sue Kent Brown (Steve); four grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth White Bryant, Keaton Jordan White, Ashlyn Shea Edwards, and Brett Vaughan Edwards; three great grandchildren, Brayden Miles White, Ivey Elizabeth Bryant and Kamden Jordan White; her brother-in-law, Rod Edwards; two nieces, Wendy and Rhonda; and two nephews, Carter and Mason.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM Wednesday, February 2, 2022 in Boykins Baptist Church with Rev. John Porter and Rev. Brooks Gale officiating.  The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Boykins Baptist Church or Meherrin Baptist Church in Murfreesboro.
