Suffolk – Mary Alene Eure Barden, 80, devoted farmer's wife and good homemaker, passed away April 21,2007 at her residence. She was born in Eure, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Daniel Richard Eure, Sr. and Mary Lilley Eure and was the widow of Clyde Clinton Barden, Jr. She was a member of South Quay Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Mary Lois Barden Blanchard and husband, Murray, and B. Carolyn Barden Woodard and husband,Thomas, both of Suffolk, Patricia Gail Barden Tillett and husband, Tony, of Kitty Hawk, NC; ; five sons, Clyde C. Barden, III and wife, Fonda, Nelson R. Barden and wife, Betty, Roger D. Barden and wife, Pam, Jack B. Barden, Terry L. Barden, all of Suffolk; one sister, Marie Harrell of New York; one brother, Daniel R. Eure, Jr. of Suffolk; fourteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Barden was predeceased by three sisters, Helen L. Piland, Nellie M. White, and Catherine E. Langston; and three brothers, Clemon, Jamie, and Joseph Eure.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm Tuesday at South Quay Baptist Church with Rev. Clyde R. Alderman officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8:30 pm at Wright Funeral Home and suggest memorials be made to South Quay Baptist Church, 9617 South Quay Road, Suffolk, Va. 23437.
