Courtland – Mary Williams Baggett, 92, was called to her eternal home on January 3, 2025. Born in Triplet, VA, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Mary Williams. She was also predeceased by her husband, Herman Baggett; her son, Timothy Earl Baggett; grandson, Scott Wynn; and a daughter in law, Denise Baggett.

Mary was a cook and a waitress for many years at Roses Department Store lunch counter. She was a cook at Courtland Health Care Center and later did seasonal work making peanut brittle. Mary's family was her pride and joy. She was a true servant who quietly lived her life, sharing her time and talents with everyone and most importantly displaying a Christlike example. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, feeding the birds, line dancing, walking, sitting in her swing and caring for others.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Donna Wilson (Clyde) of Bracey and Mary K. Wynn (B.B.) of Ahoskie, NC; one son, Leonard Baggett (Mary) of Franklin; one brother, Marvin Williams (Millie) of Triplet, VA; five grandchildren, Ray Baggett, Derek Baggett, Abby Ricks (James), Annie Gayle (Brent) and C.W. Jones (Ashley); ten great grandchildren, Caleb Seagraves (Shannon), Jason Seagraves, Tristan Gayle, Jackson Baggett, Cali Rae Baggett, Peighton Hacker, Emberly Jones, Dylan Gayle, Brooke Gayle, and Skyla Gayle; two great great grandchildren, Cade and Cami Seagraves; and two special young men Mrs. Baggett claimed as her own, Lee and Levi Kitchen.

A memorial service will be held at 7PM Thursday, January 9, 2025 in Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. John Paul Lotz officiating. Memorial donations may be made to any favorite charity.
