Franklin – Marvin Ray Wise, Jr., 74, passed away July 8, 2026 in Sentara Obici Hospital.  Born in Little Washington, NC and raised in Carrsville, VA, he was a son of the late Marvin Ray Wise, Sr. and Mary Brooks Wise and was also predeceased by a brother, Christopher Alan Wise.

Marvin was a 1969 graduate of Windsor High School and was a retired millwright in the Maintenance Dept. of International Paper after 38 years of service.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 32 years, Geraldine "Geri" Rowe Wise; two daughters, Kelly Young (Chris) and Sarah Pittman (Nic); a son, Jason Wise (Siobhan); a step-son, Donnie Williams, Jr. (Jeanette); a sister, Carolyn W. Cook (Troy); a brother, Larry Wise (Denise); a sister-in-law, Crystal Wise; six grandchildren, River and Lane Young, Trevor and Brayden Pittman, and Angel and Austin Williams; two great grandchildren, Adrian and Jeremiah Williams; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4PM Monday, July 13, 2026 in Wright Funeral Home.  Burial will be private.
