Courtland- Martha McDuffie Gibson, renowned local freelance artist, passed away October 3, 2015. Mrs. Gibson was a native of Rockingham, NC and was the daughter of the late George McDuffie and predeceased by her husband Timothy Alan Gibson and a brother, Tim McDuffie. She was a member of Courtland United Methodist Church and the Blackwater Art League.

Survivors include her mother, Nina Craft McDuffie of Rockingham, NC, a daughter, Ellen Michelle Gibson (Stu), a brother, Mark McDuffie (Betty) of Pine Bluff, NC, a close friend and second mother, Nell Lewis of Rockingham, her mother-in-law, Gertrude Parker Gibson of Murfreesboro and two brothers-in-law, Marty Gibson (Roberta) of Conway and Pete Gibson (Suzanne) of Murfreesboro.

Martha will be taken from Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, VA to Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham, NC for funeral and burial Wednesday, October 7, 2015. A memorial service will be held 4 PM Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin with the Rev. Andrew Book officiating. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
