Franklin – Mark Andrew Harrup, Sr., 70, passed away July 22, 2023, at his home. Mark was a native of Southampton County and was a son of the late Joseph Andrew and Cleo Boyette Harrup. He was also predeceased by his wife, Linda Drewry Harrup and a son, Mark Andrew "Andy" Harrup, Jr.

Mark was a graduate of Southampton High School and Chowan College. He was retired as Owner and President of Mar-Lins Food Mart in Virginia Beach for over 20 years. He enjoyed golfing and fishing. Mark grew up in Millfield Baptist Church

Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Jennifer H. Plude and husband Ian of Chesapeake and Frances H. Duke and husband Michael of Sedley, one sister, Cheryl Ann Warren and husband Donald of Murfreesboro, NC, six grandchildren, Tristan LeRoy Plude, Aiden Christopher Plude, Wyatt Buckley Duke, Milana Isabella Plude, Mark Andrew "Tre" Harrup, III, and Sterling Walker Duke.

A Graveside service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday July 26, 2023 at Southampton Memorial Park with Rev. Steve Gibson officiating. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home, Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM and suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
