Sedley – Mark Steven Carrier, 58 went to be with the Lord on October 11, 2021.  A long-time resident of Sedley, he was born in Norfolk on November 28, 1962.  Mark was predeceased by his father, Theodore Astor Carrier Jr., his brother Richard Everett Carrier, and his life-long friend Terry Rice.

Mark worked as a fork lift operator for World Market in Windsor.  In his spare time he loved to watch the Minnesota Vikings play, antique and yard sale.  Mark had six grandchildren that kept him busy and he loved to find them unique toys on his yard sale adventures.   Mark ran a landscaping business of his own for many years and had a passion for making your yard look beautiful.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Jo Ann Baughan Carrier; his son, Mark Steven Carrier, Jr.; three step daughters, Brittany Safonov (Maxim), Shelby Joyner (Justin), and Haley Everett (Cory); three brothers Theodore Astor "Ted" Carrier III, Mathew Glen Carrier, and Robert Scott Carrier (Jane Oreamuno); six grandchildren, Eva Safonov, John Joyner, Melanie Brown, and Caroline, Liam, and Collin Everett; a niece Ashley Renee Carrier; a nephew, Mark Christopher Hill (Candace Nicole McFarland); and two great nephews, Trevor Storm Carrier and Cody Rayne Carrier.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:30PM Friday, October 22, 2021 in Indiana United Methodist Church, 4505 Indiana Ave., Chesapeake, VA 23321.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 6:30PM prior to the service in the church.
